Bluehost hosting plan cost $6.95/mo if you are willing to pay 24 months in advance; Lunarpages $4.95/mo.

Then why would I recommend Hostgator if they are charging more?

Simple, you can order Hostgator by monthly basis, yearly basis, or bi-yearly basis. For BlueHost, the price is the same $7.95/mo if you are unwilling to pay 24 months in advance. With Hostgator, you will get a good hosting service at an affordable price without locking yourself by paying more in advance.
